How to Customize the Floating “My Wishlist” Button

Learn how to customize the floating button that gives customers quick access to their wishlist from any page on your store.

Where to Find the Customization Panel

  1. Log in to Shopify Admin.

  2. Open the Notify Me! app.

    • In your Shopify sidebar, go to Apps > Notify Me!

  3. Access Widget Customization.

    • In the Notify Me! dashboard, select Wishlist from the left-hand menu.

    • Click Customize appearance in the banner at the top.

  4. Select the My Wishlist Access widget.

    • Under the Widgets section, choose My Wishlist Access to begin customizing.

Customize Button Text, Icon and Position

In the right-hand editor panel, you can customize the following:

  • Button Label: Edit the text displayed on the button (e.g., “Wishlist”, “My Saved Items”).

  • Icon: Choose an icon to appear next to the label:

    • Heart

    • Bookmark

    • Star

    • None

  • Position on Screen: Select where the button should appear:

    - Top left

    - Top right

    - Bottom left

    - Bottom right

Tip: Use this setting to avoid overlap with other floating widgets like chat bubbles.

Show a count badge on the button

The Show count badge option adds a small numeric badge to the floating wishlist button showing how many items the shopper has saved. It updates live as items are added or removed, so every page becomes a reminder of what the shopper still has waiting.

To turn it on, in the My Wishlist Access editor panel switch on Show count badge, then Save.

How the badge behaves on the storefront:

  • It shows the live item count on the wishlist button.

  • It is hidden when the wishlist is empty — at zero items the button stays clean, with no badge.

  • Counts above 99 display as 99+.

  • It works for guest shoppers too, not only logged-in customers — no sign-in is required to see it.

  • It appears on the floating wishlist button, and on the header wishlist icon if your store uses that launcher (set up by our support team).

Default: stores installed after this feature was released have the badge on by default. Stores that were already installed before the release have it off — switch Show count badge on if you want it. This keeps existing storefronts from changing appearance without your action.

Customize Button Style

You can customize the visual style of the button manually:

  • Button text color

  • Button background color

  • Icon color

  • Border color

  • Border radius

  • Border thickness

  • Count badge background color (shown only when Show count badge is on)

  • Count badge text color (shown only when Show count badge is on)

You can also add custom CSS for advanced styling under Manual CSS code.

Preview and Save Changes

  • Use the Live Preview panel to see real-time updates as you make changes.

  • When you’re happy with the design, click Save in the top-right corner.
