**3. Configuring Partial Payment:

  1. Under Billing Policy, select Partial Payment.

  2. You can set the initial payment percentage required at checkout. For example, you might require customers to pay 20% of the total order amount upfront.

  3. The remaining balance can be paid at a later date, which you can specify in the settings by setting a relative or an specific date.

  4. To simplify date configuration, use the clock icon to specify the number of days after the purchase for the remaining balance payment, instead of leaving the date field blank.

4. Specifying Payment Details at Checkout:

When the partial payment option is enabled, the following details are clearly specified during checkout:

  1. Upfront Payment Amount: The exact percentage or amount that needs to be paid upfront.

  2. Remaining Balance Amount & Due Date: The date and amount of the remaining balance that should be paid.

  3. Orders with partial payments are tagged as preorders in the Shopify dashboard, making them easily identifiable for follow-up.

Conclusion:

Setting up partial payments for pre-orders can help increase sales by making it easier for customers to commit to purchases. Ensure that your store's payment policies are clearly communicated and that you manage outstanding balances effectively. 5. Setting Preorder Limits: If you are subscribed to the Premium Plan, you can limit the number of preorders accepted per product. To implement this:

  1. Navigate to the tag settings in your Shopify admin.

  2. Assign a specific tag to the product that defines its preorder limit. This feature helps manage customer expectations and prevent overbooking for high-demand products.

Note: Partial payment terms and conditions should be clearly stated to avoid any misunderstandings with customers. It's also essential to comply with any relevant laws or regulations regarding pre-orders and partial payments.
