In today's fast-paced retail world, ensuring that your customers remain engaged and committed to purchasing, even when a product is temporarily out of stock, is vital. That's where our Pre-Order feature comes in handy. By adding a Pre-Order button to products that are out of stock, you not only retain potential customers but also ensure a steady flow of sales. In this article, we'll delve into the benefits of this feature and provide a step-by-step guide on how to activate it.

Benefits of the Pre-Order Feature:

  1. Continuous Sales: Even when a product runs out of stock, the Pre-Order feature ensures you don’t lose out on potential sales. Customers can commit to buying the product and await its availability.

  2. Customer Engagement: A Pre-Order button signifies to your customers that the product will soon be back in stock, keeping them engaged and less likely to turn to competitors.

  3. Inventory Management: By allowing pre-orders, you can get an insight into the demand for a particular product, helping in efficient inventory planning and restocking decisions.

  4. Cash Flow: Collecting funds before the product is back in stock can aid in managing the cash flow, especially if funds are needed for restocking.

How to Activate the Pre-Order Feature:

  1. Log in to your Dashboard: Start by logging into your Shopify admin dashboard.

  2. Navigate to the App: Find our Notify Me! Back in Stock Alert app within the list of your installed apps and click on it.

  3. Access Pre-Order Settings: Once inside the app dashboard, go to the Pre-order tab.

  4. Enable Pre-Order: There is a Turn on button. Click on that.

  5. Set Criteria: Ensure that the product for which you want to enable the Pre-Order feature has the "Continue selling when out of stock" option turned on. This ensures that the product remains available for purchase even when it's out of stock.

  6. Save Changes: Once you’ve made the necessary adjustments, remember to save any changes to activate the feature.

Once set up, your customers will now see a "Pre-Order" button instead of the regular "Add to Cart" button for products that are out of stock but have the "Continue Selling When out of stock" option enabled. When they make a purchase using this button, you'll receive the order as usual and can fulfill it once the product is back in stock.

In conclusion, the Pre-Order feature is an indispensable tool for modern retailers, bridging the gap between product availability and consistent sales. By understanding its benefits and knowing how to activate it, you can keep your sales momentum going and provide a seamless shopping experience for your customers.
