If you’re not seeing the Pre-Order button on your sold-out products, follow this troubleshooting guide to ensure everything is set up correctly. Our Pre-Order feature allows customers to place orders on products that are currently out of stock, ensuring you never miss a sale. Here’s how to make sure the button displays properly on product, collection, and homepage levels.
For Product Pages:
Check if the Pre-Order Feature is Enabled
Go to your Shopify admin and navigate to the Notify Me! app.
Go to Preorder tab and then Settings and click on Edit for Visibility Status.
Ensure that the Pre-Order option is turned on for your store for your product pages. This is essential for the button to appear.
Check the App Embed
Navigate to Online Store > Themes > Customize in your Shopify admin.
Ensure that the Notify Me! app embed is activated for your current theme.
Note: If you’ve recently changed your theme, you’ll need to activate the App Embed for the new theme. The app embed does not carry over automatically when switching themes, so make sure it’s turned on for each theme you use.
Verify Inventory Levels
Ensure that the product in question is sold out (inventory level must be 0 or less).
If the product is still in stock, the Pre-Order button will not display.
Turn On 'Continue Selling When Out of Stock'
Go to your product settings in Shopify and ensure that the Continue selling when out of stock option is turned on.
This option is necessary for the Pre-Order button to appear since it allows customers to purchase out-of-stock items.

As with product pages, ensure the Pre-Order feature is enabled for your store for your collection page.
Check the App Embed
Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize and make sure the Pre-Order app embed is activated.
Note: After changing your theme, you must re-activate the App Embed on the new theme.
Verify The Product Has The Preorder Conditions
For the Pre-Order button to appear on the collection page, all the conditions for preorder should be met and you should be able to see the preorder button on the product page.
Ensure the Add to Cart Button is Present
For the Pre-Order button to show on the collection page, there must already be an Add to Cart button available.
If the Add to Cart button is not enabled for the collection page, the Pre-Order button will not appear.
