What is the Back-In-Stock Subscriber Form and How to Customize It?

Learn what the subscriber form is and how to customize its fields, style, and behavior for your store.

When customers visit an out-of-stock product page, this form allows them to subscribe for restock notifications.

You can control how the form appears and customize it to match your store’s needs, including which fields are shown and which are required.

Where to Find It

To access the Back-In-Stock subscriber form:

  1. Navigate to the Back in Stock section.

  2. Go to Custom Appearance.

  3. In the Widget section, click on Subscriber Form.

Form Settings

On the right side of the form editor, you will find these options:

  • Form Title
    Change the form’s title. The default is “Notify me via,” but you can edit it to fit your brand.

  • Button Text
    Update the text on the form’s submit button to match your tone.

Field Customization

You can control which fields appear on the form and which fields are mandatory. Each field includes the following controls:

  • Visibility (eye icon)
    - If the eye icon is visible, the field will display.
    - If the eye icon is crossed out, the field will be hidden.

Required Fields

For each field, you can choose whether it is required. Inside the field settings panel, enable Make this field required to require customers to fill in the field before submitting the form.

When a field is marked as required:

  • A red asterisk (*) appears next to the field label on the subscriber form.

  • Customers must complete the field before they can subscribe.

Only visible fields can be marked as required.

We'll show relevant errors if a field is not filled. You can customize the message right from the panel.

Name

The Name field allows you to collect your customer’s full name when they subscribe.

In the Name field settings, you can configure:

  • Name field label
    The text shown above the field (default: “Name”).

  • Name field placeholder
    The text displayed inside the field (default: “Full name …”).

  • Required name error
    The message shown when the field is required but left empty (default: “Name is required.”).

  • Name too long error
    The message shown when the entered name exceeds the allowed length (default: “Name is too long.”).

Email

  • Enable Email Notifications: Allows customers to receive email notifications when the product is restocked.

  • Email Label: Text showing customers what to enter (default: “Email”).

  • Email Placeholder: Text displayed inside the email field (default: “Email Address…”).

  • Wrong Email Address Error: Message shown when an invalid email is entered (default: “Your email address is not valid.”).

SMS

  • Enable SMS Notifications: Allows customers to receive SMS notifications when the product is restocked.

  • SMS Label: Text showing customers what to enter (default: “SMS”).

  • SMS Placeholder: Text displayed inside the SMS field (default: “1234567890”).

  • Wrong Phone Number Error: Message shown when an invalid phone number is entered (default: “Your phone number is not valid.”).

WhatsApp

  • Enable WhatsApp Notifications: Allows customers to receive WhatsApp notifications when the product is restocked.

  • WhatsApp Label: Text showing customers what to enter (default: “WhatsApp”).

  • WhatsApp Placeholder: Text displayed inside the WhatsApp field.

Push Notification

  • Enable Push Notifications: Allows customers to receive push notifications when the product is restocked.

  • Customers can check the push notification box to subscribe.

  • You can edit the label text (default: “Push notification”).

Shopify Contact List

If you have integrated Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Shopify Contact, or Omnisend:

  • Customers can opt in to your marketing list to receive news and offers.

  • You can edit the label text (default: “Notify me about other news or offers too.”).

Style Customization

You can adjust the form’s appearance to match your store’s design.

Smart Match with Theme (Recommended)
Automatically matches your form’s colors, fonts, and button styles with your store’s theme.

Custom Style
Manually adjust:

  • Button text color

  • Button background color

  • Button border color

  • Button border radius

  • Button border thickness

Live Preview

The Live Preview panel shows updates in real-time as you adjust text, style, and placement. Use this to ensure the form matches your store’s design before publishing.

Save Your Changes

When you are done customizing your subscriber form, remember to click “Save” to apply your changes.
