Steps to Create a Back-in-Stock Notification

Follow these steps to set up and test your notification:

  1. Log in to your Shopify account.

  2. Choose an out-of-stock product:

  • Go to a product page with zero inventory.

  • If needed, set a product’s inventory to 0.

  • Make sure the Continue selling when out of stock option is unchecked, so Notify Me! can recognize it as out-of-stock. Tip: If you want to show the Notify Me button on products that allow pre-orders (continue selling), enable the Show the "Notify Me" button on pre-order product pages setting.

  • Note: During the trial plan, you can only send up to 50 email notifications or 5 SMS notifications daily. This ensures proper functionality within system constraints.

3. Locate the “Notify Me” button:

  • You’ll typically find it below the Sold Out message.

Important:
If you don’t see the button, contact us via live chat or email at [email protected] so we can help set it up.

4. Test the subscription form:

  • Click Notify Me to open the form.

  • Enter your email, phone number, or both.

  • Choose how you’d like to be notified (Email, SMS, Push Notification, or all).

5. Review your subscription:

  • In your Notify Me! panel, go to Back in Stock > Requests to see your test request.

6. Restock the product:

  • In the Shopify Admin dashboard, go to Products.

  • Update the product inventory to 1 or more.

  • Once updated, you’ll receive the notification you subscribed to.

7. Verify sent notifications:

  • In your Notify Me! panel, check Back in Stock > Sent Notifications to confirm it was sent.

Importing Notification Requests

Users can also import existing notification requests into the "Notify Me" app. To do this:

  1. Open the app and navigate to the "Back-in-Stock" section.

  2. Click on Import Requests.

  3. Download the sample CSV template and input relevant data, ensuring the structure remains unchanged.

  4. Use the Add File option to upload the completed template. The system processes the file and activates notification requests for the listed customers. This feature is especially useful for transferring data from other notification systems.

Customize Your Widgets

You can customize:

Notification Settings

  • Automatic notifications: Notifications are sent automatically when the inventory reaches the minimum stock level (default is 1). You can adjust this to any number in your settings (Read this article )

  • Manual notifications: You can also send notifications manually:

  1. Select the request.

  2. Click Manually Send.

  • Conditions for notifications: Notifications are sent when:

    • The inventory increases from zero.

    • The product is published and available for purchase.

    • Restocks occur at locations configured within the "Notify Me" app.

    • Requests marked as "Restocked" after sending notifications require re-subscription for further updates.
