How to create your first back-in-stock notification? How to set up your first request?

Now that you've installed notify me! it’s time to send a test notification to see how it works.

In order to do that, you need to do the following steps:

  • Log in to your Shopify account.

  • Go to an out-of-stock product page or add a product with 0 inventory (This is how our app identifies out-of-stock products). If you already have an out-of-stock product, uncheck the continue selling box so Restock Alerts can identify the product as out-of-stock.

Note: If you'd like to see the button on your products with continue selling when out of stock option you should enable the "Show the "Notify me" button on pre-order product pages" feature. You can read more about it here.

  • Look for the “Notify me” button. This is often located under the “sold-out” button.

Note: If you don't see the button, we might need to manually make some changes, so please contact us via our live chat or send us an email at [email protected].

  • Click on the button and you'll see the subscription form.

  • Enter your email address, Phone number, or both, and subscribe for email and SMS, push notifications, or all.

  • You can see your request on your panel> Reports> Requests.

  • Now, select Products on the Shopify admin dashboard and Set the inventory of the requested product to 1 or a higher number. by doing this you'll get an email, SMS, or push notification. Then, if you recheck the Reports, you’ll see a sent notification under the Sent Notifications tab.

  • You may want to customize the widgets (Button, Subscription form, or Notifications) in the Customization section. You can read more about it here.

Note: Notifications will be sent automatically when the product inventory reaches what has been set as the minimum level. By default, it is set to 1, and you can change it to any number you'd like. You can read more in this article.

Note: you can also send notifications manually by selecting the request, clicking on Actions, and then manually send.
