How to Manually Send Back-in-Stock Notifications in the Notify Me! App

Pick which channels (Email, SMS, WhatsApp, Push) a manual back-in-stock notification is sent on.

The Notify Me! app supports both automatic and manual notification options. While the app can automatically notify customers when a product is restocked, you can also choose to send notifications manually for more control.

When Might Manual Sending Be Useful?

  • Strategic Release: If you're restocking a popular product and want to create a sense of event or timed release, you can manually send out notifications at the exact moment you decide.

  • Selective Notifications: Perhaps you want to prioritize notifying certain segments of your customers first, like those from a specific location or loyalty tier. Manual selection lets you do this.

  • Personal Review: Before an automated system sends out notifications, you might want to review and ensure everything is in order, especially for high-profile products or launches.

How to Manually Send Notifications

You can manually send notifications from two places:

  1. Requests Section

  2. Demanding Products Section

1️⃣ From the Requests Section:

  • Access the Requests Table:
Go to the Back in Stock widget and click Requests in the Quick Reports section.

  • Select Desired Requests:
A list of all customer notification requests will appear. Select specific requests by checking the boxes next to them.

  • Filter and Select (Optional):
If you have a large number of requests and want to send notifications based on certain criteria, use the filtering options. Once filtered, you can select all the filtered requests.

  • Send Manually:
After making your selection, click the Send Manually button. Notifications will be sent to the selected customers.

2️⃣ From the Demanding Products Section:

  • Access the Demanding Products Table:
Go to the Back in Stock widget and click Demanding Products in the Quick Reports section.

  • Select Desired Products:
A list of products will appear. Select specific requests by checking the boxes next to them.

  • Filter and Select (Optional):
Use filters to refine your selection based on specific demand criteria. Once filtered, select all applicable entries.

  • Send Manually:
Click the Send Manually button to dispatch notifications to customers who requested updates for the selected products.

Choosing which channels to send on

When you click Send Manually (from either the Requests or Demanding Products section), a Select the channels window opens before anything is sent. Choose which channels the notification should go out on, then confirm.

  • channel you keep checked will receive the notification.

  • A channel you have not enabled for your store appears greyed out and cannot be selected — in the example above, Push notifications is turned off.

  • At least one channel must be selected. The Send manual notification button stays disabled until you pick one.

  • Click Send manual notification to send, or Cancel to close without sending.

The same channel picker also appears on a single request’s detail page, in the Last Notification card, so you can notify one customer on specific channels.

Benefits of Manual Notifications

  • Flexibility: Choose exactly when to send messages.

  • Targeted Communication: Prioritize certain groups of customers.

  • Quality Control: Ensure details are accurate before sending.
