Configure the Quantity Selector for Restock Requests

Learn how to enable the Quantity field on your subscriber form, set maximum limits, and understand how requested quantities affect notification delivery.

Before you start

The Quantity feature allows customers to specify how many units of a product they intend to buy when signing up for a back-in-stock alert. This shifts your notifications from a simple 1-to-1 alert system to a demand-aware engine.

  • This feature is especially useful if you sell items often bought in multiples, such as tiles, consumables, or collectibles, or if you cater to B2B and wholesale customers.

  • When enabled, the system checks your available inventory against each customer's requested quantity. If a customer requests 5 units but you only restock 2, the system skips them and notifies the next person in line whose requirement is 2 or lower. This prevents customers from receiving an alert only to find they cannot complete their full purchase.

Enable the Quantity field on your subscriber form

You can turn on the Quantity field from your app dashboard to display it on the customer-facing widget.

1. Navigate to CustomizationSubscriber form.

2. Scroll down to the Quantity section and click the eye icon to make it visible.

3. Click on the Quantity section to expand its settings.

4. Enter a name in the Quantity field label (the default is "Quantity").

5. Enter a number in the Maximum limit field. This defines the highest number of units a single subscriber can request.

6. Click Save to apply your changes.

When customers open the "Notify Me" modal on your storefront, they will now see a numeric selector with **-** and **+** buttons, allowing them to choose a quantity up to your defined limit.

Setting a Maximum limit is highly recommended. Without a limit, a single user requesting a massive amount (e.g., 100) could stay at the top of the queue indefinitely if you only restock in small batches.

View requested quantities in the Request table

Once customers start submitting requests with specific quantities, you can view this data in your dashboard to gauge the true volume of demand.

1. Navigate to your Requests table.

2. Look for the Quantity column, which displays the number of units each customer requested.

You can also filter your requests based on the requested quantity.

1. Click the Filter button above the table.

2. Select Quantity from the attribute list.

3. Choose a numeric filter logic (e.g., "is equal to", "is greater than") and enter a value.

How Quantity affects notification delivery

The Quantity feature adds a new layer of intelligence to your Delivery Policy.

  • Eligibility Check: The system only sends a notification if the requested quantity is less than or equal to the current inventory level.

  • Skip Logic: If the current inventory is below the requested quantity, that specific subscriber is skipped and remains in the queue.

  • Delivery Policy Interaction: When calculating a notification batch based on your delivery policy (e.g., "Alert 10 people for every 1 item"), each requested unit counts toward that allocated ratio.
