You can manage how and when customers receive back-in-stock notifications in your Shopify store using the Notify Me! app. This guide explains how to activate or deactivate notifications, adjust delivery settings, and configure advanced options to match your store’s needs.
Access Back-in-Stock Settings
Go to your Shopify store.
Open the Notify Me! app.
Navigate to the Back in Stock section.
Click the Settings button.
Under Back-in-stock notifications, find First alert notification and click Edit to view details.
Activate or Deactivate Notifications
On the edit page, scroll to the Activated notifications section.
You will see these options:
Email
SMS
Push
Check or uncheck each box to activate or deactivate that notification channel.
Adjust Delivery Policy
The delivery policy controls how notifications are sent to customers.
Automatic (default): Notifies all subscribers immediately when a product is restocked.
Advanced: Allows custom control over notifications:
Notification order: Choose to notify customers by newest first or oldest first.
Notification batch size: Set how many customers to notify at once.
Batch interval: Set the time between sending each batch.
Advanced Configuration Options
Set Minimum Inventory Thresholds
By default, notifications are sent when at least one unit is restocked. You can increase this threshold if you want alerts sent only when more units are available.

Send Notifications When “Track Quantity” Is Off
By default, notifications are sent when:
The Track quantity box is checked.
Continue selling when out of stock is turned off.
Inventory changes from 0 to a positive number.
If you want to send notifications when Track quantity is off, enable the Send notifications when “Track quantity” is off option in your settings.
Send Notifications When “Continue Selling When Out of Stock” Is On
By default, notifications are sent when this setting is turned off. If you want to send notifications while Continue selling when out of stock is on, enable this option in your settings.
