Connect Nosto to Notify Me!

Connect your Nosto account to Notify Me and send back-in-stock, wishlist, and pre-order intent to Nosto.

Notify Me! can send your shoppers' back-in-stock, wishlist, and pre-order activity to your Nosto account, so you can build Nosto segments and personalize each shopper's visit around what they're waiting for. Notify Me! stays the sender of every alert — Nosto never sends your alerts. This article shows you how to connect Nosto, what data flows to it, and how to disconnect.

Nosto is in Beta. This is an early release — you'll see a Beta label on the integration. Everything in this guide works today, but we're still building it out and rolling it out gradually, so availability and some details may change while it's in Beta. If anything looks off, reach out to support.

Before you start

  • Nosto is a paid integration — it appears on plans that include it. If your plan doesn't, the Nosto card shows a lock and the Connect button is disabled.

  • You need an active Nosto account with the Nosto Shopify app installed.

  • You need a Nosto API token with customer-data access. Nosto issues this token — you request it from Nosto (see step 2), you don't create it yourself.

Open the Nosto integration

In the Notify Me! admin, go to Settings → Integrations. Find the Nosto card (it carries a Beta label) and click Connect.

Get your Nosto API token

Notify Me! connects to Nosto with an API token. Nosto issues these tokens — you don't generate them yourself. Contact Nosto support or your Nosto account manager / Customer Success Manager and request an API token with customer-data access (this needs Nosto's Audience Insights & Builder). Copy the token they provide.

Paste the token and connect

Back in Notify Me!, on the Nosto page paste the token into Nosto API token and click Connect to Nosto.

Nosto connect screen

Connecting starts the sync from now on. Notify Me! does not backfill your existing subscribers, wishlists, pre-orders, or past orders. Only shopper activity after you connect is sent to Nosto.

Once connected, the page shows your Nosto account (shopify-<your store id>) and the Data sent to Nosto card.

What Notify Me! sends to Nosto

After you connect, Notify Me! writes these attributes to each shopper's Nosto customer profile, keyed by email, as the shopper acts. Nothing is read back from Nosto in this phase, and you build your own Nosto segments on top of these attributes.

  • Identity — shopper email and phone number.

  • Intent flags — whether the shopper is actively waitlisting a back-in-stock item, was notified about a restock but hasn't purchased yet, has an active wishlist, or is a pre-order customer.

  • Counters and recency — when the shopper was last sent a restock notification, their wishlist item count and value, and their pre-order count.

Disconnect Nosto

On the connected Nosto page, click Disconnect in the header and confirm. Disconnecting stops sending your shopper data to Nosto. Your alerts keep sending as normal, your Nosto data stays intact, and you can reconnect anytime.

Tips

  • Connecting is forward-only — plan to connect before a big restock or campaign so the activity you care about is captured from the start.

  • Notify Me! only sends data for shoppers who have an email on file; make sure your capture points collect email.

  • Segments are yours to build — Notify Me! writes the attributes, but you create the Nosto segments (for example "active waitlisters" or "notified, not purchased") on top of them.

Troubleshooting

  • The Nosto card is locked or the Connect button is disabled — Nosto isn't included on your current plan. Upgrade to a plan that includes it.

  • "We couldn't validate this Nosto API key" — the token is wrong or lacks customer-data access. Ask Nosto support for a fresh token with customer-data access and paste it again.

  • "Nosto disconnected" error banner — your Nosto connection has expired, so Notify Me! has stopped sending shopper data. Your alerts are still being sent as normal. Click Reconnect with Nosto and paste a fresh token to resume the sync.

  • I connected but old subscribers aren't in Nosto — this is expected. The sync is forward-only and doesn't backfill activity from before you connected.
