Every price Notify Me! shows for a pre-order uses your store's own currency formatting, the same one your theme uses for its prices. This article shows where that format is set in Shopify and how to change it if your pre-order prices don't look the way you want.
Where Notify Me! uses your currency format
Your store's format is applied to every pre-order price the app shows:
The pre-order price on product pages, and the original price shown with a strikethrough when the offer has a discount.
Pre-order prices on collection pages and the discount badge (for example, -$5.00).
The Save amount in the offer selector.
The deposit text for partial payments (for example, $5.00 Due now · $5.00 Due later on 2026-10-01), and the Payment line in the cart.
If your store sells in more than one currency with Shopify Markets, customers see each price in their own currency's format.
Before you start
You need access to your store's Settings in the Shopify admin.
Make sure the Notify Me! app embed is turned on in your theme, so the app can read your store's format.
Step 1: Open your store's general settings
In your Shopify admin, go to Settings → General. Find Currency display under Store defaults.
Step 2: Open the currency formatting options
Click the ⋯ button next to your store currency, then select Change currency formatting.
Step 3: Edit "HTML without currency" and save
Notify Me! uses the HTML without currency format. Edit it, then click Save.
The format must contain one of Shopify's amount placeholders. For example:
{{amount}}shows 1,234.56{{amount_no_decimals}}shows 1,235{{amount_with_comma_separator}}shows 1.234,56
Put your currency symbol before or after the placeholder, for example ${{amount}} or {{amount_with_comma_separator}} €.
Tips
You don't need to change anything in Notify Me!. The app always follows the format saved in Shopify.
Reload your store page after saving to see the new format.
Prices in other currencies (Shopify Markets) use Shopify's standard format for that currency.
Troubleshooting
The pre-order price looks different from other prices on the page — check the HTML without currency format in Step 3, then reload the page. Notify Me! uses exactly that format.
