Shopify bundles offer a great way to sell products together, but it’s important to note that they are not compatible with certain purchase options, including pre-orders, subscriptions, and try-before-you-buy.
Why Can't I Use Pre-Orders for Bundles?
The incompatibility is due to how Shopify’s selling plans for pre-orders function. Bundles cannot integrate with the advanced settings that pre-order selling plans provide.
Possible Errors You Might Encounter:
When trying to pre-order a bundle product, you may see the following error:
"The bundle product 'Product Name' cannot be added to the cart."
This error occurs because pre-order selling plans and bundles are not designed to work together.
Alternative Solution:
If you need to enable pre-orders for a bundle product, consider removing the pre-order selling plan. This will allow the bundle to be sold like a normal product, but you will lose access to the following pre-order features:
Configurable payment options (full or partial payments).
Scheduled or on-hold fulfillment.
Inventory reservation settings.
To make this adjustment, contact our support team, and we’ll assist you in removing the pre-order selling plans for your bundle.
