How to Manage “Notify Me” Button Visibility

To adjust where your Back in Stock widget appears:

  1. Open the Shopify App Store.

  2. Navigate to your ABC Back in Stock app.

  3. Go to the “Back in Stock” section.

  4. Click Settings.

  5. Locate the “Visibility” section in the top right corner.

  6. Click Edit to adjust visibility options.

Where You Can Display the Button

You can enable or disable the “Notify Me” button on:

  • Product pages

  • Collection pages

  • Home page

Toggle each option by checking or unchecking the box in your visibility settings.

Product Page

Enabling this option adds the “Notify Me” button to your product pages.

Product pages are where customers view item details and decide whether to buy. Adding the “Notify Me” button here lets customers subscribe for restock alerts immediately after a product sells out, helping you capture purchase intent and recover lost sales.

Collection Page

Enabling this option adds the “Notify Me” button to your collection pages.

Collections help customers browse related products. If an entire collection is sold out, shoppers may leave upon seeing “Sold Out.” Adding the “Notify Me” button allows customers to request restock notifications directly from the collection page, without needing to open individual product pages.

Home Page

Enabling this option adds the “Notify Me” button to your homepage.

The homepage is often the first place customers visit and showcases your most popular products, which can sell out quickly. A “Notify Me” button on your homepage allows customers to subscribe for restock notifications as soon as these high-demand items sell out.

Widget Display Options

Display the widget for all variants if at least one is out of stock

By default, the “Notify Me” button appears only when the specific variant a customer is viewing is sold out. Enabling this option will display the “Notify Me” button on the product page if any variant of that product is out of stock, even if the customer is viewing a variant that is still available.

For example, if the Size L of a red t-shirt is out of stock, the “Notify Me” button will appear on the product page even when a customer is viewing Size M, allowing them to subscribe for restock notifications for the out-of-stock variant.

Display the “Notify Me” widget on preorder product pages

The Notify Me app also includes a preorder feature. By default, you can display either a preorder button or the “Notify Me” button, not both.

If you want to show both buttons at the same time on your product pages, enable the “Display the ‘Notify Me’ widget on preorder product pages” option. This allows customers to choose to preorder available products while also subscribing for restock notifications on out-of-stock variants.
