How PreOrder Usage Is Billed in Notify Me

Learn how transaction-based fees for PreOrders are calculated and added to your Shopify invoice.

Updated over a week ago

How PreOrder Billing Works

  • When a customer places a PreOrder using Notify Me, a percentage-based fee is applied to the total value of that order.

  • The percentage rate depends on your Notify Me plan.

  • Example: If your plan’s PreOrder fee is 1% and a customer places a $100 PreOrder, you are charged $1.00.

Where You See PreOrder Charges

PreOrder transaction fees appear in two places:

  1. Notify Me Dashboard – Under Add-on Charges, alongside other usage-based charges.

  2. Shopify Invoice – Grouped under Transaction fees with your other app charges.

Charges accumulate as PreOrders are placed and are included in your next Shopify billing cycle.

What You’re Charged For

You are charged only for:

  • PreOrders placed by customers

  • The total value of those PreOrders

  • The percentage rate assigned to your plan

Note: Standard (non-PreOrder) orders are not subject to these fees.
